Mobile Application Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This privacy policy governs your use of the software application PEACE RADIO (“Application”) for mobile devices, created by AL HIKMA COMMUNICATIONS. The Application provides access to Peace Radio’s internet radio broadcast and to related services offered within it, including programme schedules and archives, listener feedback, live programme interaction, online courses and certification, quizzes and contests, referrals, and donations.
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information
The Application obtains the information you provide when you download, register, and use its features. What is collected depends on which features you choose to use — listening to the radio requires no account and no personal information.
- Registration and identification. If you sign in, you provide your mobile phone number, which we verify by one-time password (OTP). You may also provide your name, place, date of birth and gender.
- Feedback. When you submit feedback you are generally required to provide information such as your name, email address (optional), mobile phone number (optional), your opinion on programmes aired on our radio station, your recorded voice, or an image you choose.
- Courses. If you enrol in a course you provide a profile including your name, username, email address, phone number, profile picture, and address details such as district, panchayat, ward and PIN code. We record your progress, assignment and examination answers, results, and any certificate issued to you.
- Quizzes, contests and referrals. Your answers, scores, and — where you appear on a leaderboard or are recorded as a winner — your name. If you refer another person, we record the connection between your account and theirs.
- Donations. If you donate, your payment is processed by our payment provider, Razorpay. Your card, UPI or banking credentials are entered with Razorpay and are never seen or stored by the Application or by us. We retain the donation amount, date, status and the reference the provider returns.
Where you have identified yourself, this information is sent with your requests to our servers so that your account, progress, entries and donations stay associated with you across sessions and devices. We may also use it to contact you from time to time with important information, required notices, and updates on features offered by the Application.
Automatically Collected Information
The Application also collects certain information automatically, including:
- Device and app information — the type and model of mobile device you use, its manufacturer, operating system and version, screen size, language setting, whether the device is physical or an emulator, and the version and build of the Application.
- Identifiers — a randomly generated device token used to recognise your installation, a session identifier generated afresh each time you open the Application, and — if you have registered — your account identifier. If you allow notifications, we also store the push notification token issued by Google or Apple for your device.
- Usage information — which screens you open and in what order, which stations and programmes you play, when playback starts and stops, and timestamps (including timezone) for actions such as submitting feedback.
- Approximate location — a coarse location derived from the internet address (IP address) your device connects from, giving the country, region, city and the approximate coordinates of that area. The Application does not access your device’s GPS and does not collect your precise location. We do not store your IP address itself; it is converted to a one-way hashed value that cannot be reversed back to the address.
- Connection type — whether your device is on Wi-Fi, mobile data, or offline at the time of a fault. We do not collect your mobile carrier.
- Diagnostics and fault reports — see the section below.
Diagnostics and Crash Reporting
To keep the Application working reliably, we automatically collect technical information when something goes wrong — a crash, a screen that fails to open, a failed request, audio that will not play, or an image that will not load. This helps us find and fix faults we would otherwise never hear about. These reports include:
- the error message and technical stack trace, the screen it occurred on, and the sequence of screens visited immediately beforehand;
- the address of the Application request that failed and the error code returned. Anything after the “?” in the address is removed on your device before the report is sent;
- the device, app, identifier and connection information described above;
- occasional measurements of display smoothness and memory pressure, used to find screens that stutter or run out of memory;
- how long the Application took to start, and whether the previous session ended unexpectedly — which is how we detect crashes the Application itself cannot report.
Fault reports never include:
- the contents of requests to, or responses from, our servers;
- passwords, authentication tokens or access keys — these are removed automatically before a report leaves your device;
- your name, phone number or address, even where the Application knows them for other purposes;
- screenshots, screen recordings, or anything you type.
How your information is shared
Your information is processed on Peace Radio’s own servers and is accessible only to authorised Peace Radio personnel. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to track you across other applications or websites.
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf in order to make the Application work:
- Google Firebase — Cloud Messaging, to deliver push notifications to your device, and Crashlytics, which records crashes at the operating-system level that the Application cannot detect on its own. Processed on Google’s infrastructure under Google’s privacy terms.
- Razorpay — to process donations. Payment credentials are handled entirely by Razorpay under their privacy terms.
- Our hosting providers — who operate the servers on which the Application’s data is stored.
These providers do not have an independent right to use the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set out in this privacy statement.
We may otherwise disclose information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
- when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- if AL HIKMA COMMUNICATIONS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets — you will be notified by email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or in the uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have.
What are my opt-out rights?
- You can listen to Peace Radio without registering. Account, course, quiz and donation information is collected only if you choose to use those features.
- You can turn off push notifications at any time in your device settings.
- You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it, using the standard uninstall process available on your device or through your mobile application marketplace.
Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information
- User Provided data — retained for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter.
- Diagnostic and fault reports — deleted automatically within 30 days. Routine records of the Application being opened are deleted within 7 days.
- Other Automatically Collected information — retained for up to 24 months, after which it may be stored only in aggregate form.
If you would like us to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us at privacy@peaceradio.com and we will respond in a reasonable time. However, removal of such User Provided Data shall only be limited to the entity concerned — for example a feedback submission — and does not imply, and you shall not be eligible to request, removal of subsequent content created by Peace Radio based on the same. Please note that some or all of the User Provided Data may be required in order for the Application to function properly.
Children
We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information through the Application without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy@peaceradio.com. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.
Security
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain. Information travels between the Application and our servers over encrypted connections, and access to it is limited to authorised personnel. Please be aware that, although we endeavour to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy here and informing you by email where we hold one. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. “Processing” means using cookies on a computer or handheld device, or using or touching information in any way, including but not limited to collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information.

If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about our practices, please contact us by email at privacy@peaceradio.com.
